Treat and/or avoid arthritis

Know anyone suffering from Arthritis? Please pass on and help end their suffering:

Arthritis begins with poor digestion and a weakened colon, resulting in accumulation of undigested food and build-up of waste matter. This allows toxins to accumulate in the body, plus problems with the colon allow the toxins to reach the joints where toxins inhibit proper function, mobility and comfort, resulting in arthritis.

Arthritis can be different for different people and will also depend on your predominant Dosha type and imbalance (which needs to be diagnosed thru consultation with an Ayurveda Doctor) therefore your arthritis will have different characteristics and require different treatment.

Eg a Vata type of arthritis, your joints will crack and pop, becoming dry but with little swelling.  A Pitta type arthritis is characterised by inflammation where joints are swollen, painful even without movement and often red and hot to touch.  With Kapha type arthritis the joints become stiff and swollen but are cold and clammy instead of hot.  A little movement tends to relieve the pain instead of aggravating.

The root causes of disorders such as arthritis are found at a deeper layer of functioning in the body.  Ayurveda assessment techniques determine specific imbalances, and tailor your treatment program to your arthritis condition.  Ayurveda treatments remove the root causes of arthritis by reducing Vata imbalance, eliminating toxins, and relieving stress.

Ayurveda herbs
Impurities can develop faster than the body can eliminate them; cleansing alone is not enough for relief from arthritis.  The key to preventing toxic build up is to create healthier cells, ones that can effectively eliminate toxins.  Ayurveda arthritis treatment improves digestion and metabolism, forming pure, easily assimilated nutrient plasma.  This plasma lubricates and nourishes joint tissue, releasing toxins and impurities for elimination from the body.

Arthritis Treatments include * cleanse the channels of circulation, * strengthen digestion, * lubricate the joints, * balance nervous system function.

Dr G G Gangadharan, Medical Director, International Journal for Ayurveda Research says "Ayurvedic medicines do not have side-effects like allopathic steroids and painkillers do. Comprehensive treatment for arthritis may last for 7, 14 or 21 days.

All arthritis pain responds to a variety of detoxification treatments using herbal medicated oils, specific herbs and detox diets. We also suggest some alteration in diet and lifestyle."

In summary, the Ayurveda approach with treating and/or avoiding arthritis is to:
  1. Strengthens the metabolic pathways that prevent circulatory channels to joints from becoming blocked by impurities.
  2. Strengthens digestion to create nutritional plasma that is pure and easy to assimilate.
  3. Improves the lubrication of joints.
  4. Balances nervous system function and its sensitivity to pain.
